We are OPEN!
We officially opened our doors to Clients September 30, 2024!
We are excited to be serving our first clients! Our bold strategic plan aimed for a fall opening, and with determination and God, it is now a reality, our first clients have entered the program! Thank you for joining us on this journey! God has been with us on every twist and turn, providing us with solutions and people along the way!
Thank You Barrhead!
There is no denying we live in such a great, supportive and generous community! We want to take a moment to shoutout a few businesses/individuals who have really made an impact on our ability to serve clients.
Anonymous Donor - purchased the Home, we are so grateful for the servant heart and partnership in God's ministry.
Jeff with JayKay Construction - designed and built our fence among MANY other projects!
Stalwart Electric - finished electrical in our basement, so we can complete renovations and safely house clients.
Barrhead Transit Mix - concrete donation
Wayne from BeeSmart Safety - fire extinguishers & safety education.
We are launching in September!
Our clients are facing difficulties many of us cannot even imagine; domestic violence, mental health decline, addictions, and human trafficking-modern day slavery, to name a few.
We cannot tell you how many times we have heard,
“I know someone who needs your home, when will you be open?”
We have had several, in just the past few weeks. It is clear that it is time to pull everything together and open our doors to women and children in need.
We have spent the past 5 years planning and preparing a foundation that will support this ministry, for years to come. It is important to us that we are prepared to fully serve all pregnant women, facing homelessness, no matter their circumstance.
It has become very clear to us that we need 24/7 trained and experienced staff, in the home at all times. We have been praying that God would provide a qualified and capable team to support our clients dealing with the complex circumstances that they face.
We are overjoyed to announce that we have hired 8 remarkable women to work in our home and we are aiming to OPEN OUR DOORS September 30th. This is an ambitious goal, but after 5 years of preparation, we are not willing to hold off any longer.
Our first day of training! 9 staff, 2 board members, & 1 volunteer!

AGM-presented by Wayne DeBoer
The past year has been a turbulent one for the Amber’s Hope Maternity Home Board.
The Lord has blessed us abundantly throughout the year with many donations and amazing
community support. Yet the devil also has made his attempts as well to foil our plans. Let us
take a quick glance at the year that was what we have in store for the next stage of progress.
The members of the board worked hard to prepare many things behind the scenes for
the opening of the home. The website has been designed and formatted by the talented
members of our team and is getting put through its paces to make information and electronic
donating more efficient. The facebook site is constantly being updated with our activities and
upcoming events that help to inform our donors and hopefully get our mission out in the
community. How wonderful it is to see how the talented people are utilizing their God given
talents and putting them on display.
This display of talent was especially put into the spotlight with our headline fundraiser the
Dinner Theatre title “Unexpected”. The countless volunteer hours and meticulous planning,
rehearsing, decorating - and many more things I don't have the space to name - was amazing to
see and how well the production was received can only attest to the greatness of the Lord’s
work in our community. This was especially paramount in the weeks following the event where
we heard so many great stories of how well the night went and how touched people were over
the production, this was a testament to how hard the board and our countless volunteers have
worked this past year.
All of this was not without turbulence. Satan was and still is hard at work trying to foil our
plans. We are still awaiting key items that need to be completed before we can move forward in
completing our goal of bringing a maternity home to the community of Barrhead. As a new
board we have had our struggles, both personally and as a group, as we had to see members
leave, but as always the Lord is there to pick us up. Recently, the board hired a new member to
fulfill the duties to take some of the stress off of ourselves and also two new board members
have joined our team to fill the vacancies.
With this in mind we prayerfully are moving forward with our plans and are excited,
nervous and energized to do what the Lord has in store for us this year. I pray that we can see
the Lord’s work being done and that things can progress in His good timing. Taking this on
never was going to be an easy task, but with the Lord’s help and with our loving community, I
feel like we will strive forward and bring “Amber” home to Barrhead.
“God thunders wondrously with his voice; he does great things that we cannot comprehend.”
